Writing

One of the more interesting challenges when it comes to writing is choosing who influences your writing style. I’ve started reading A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin and despite knowing the sequence of events from the brilliant Game of Thrones series (disregarding the last two seasons), the book is great so far. It is quite tempting to incorporate some of those conversational flows and styles into this second novel but that might require rewriting a few chapters. An option for sure but time is definitely a thing. For now, I’m still sharpening the text and I’ll likely be taking time off to focus on it. The revision process could be indefinite but there will come a time where I’ll have to accept that the process needs to move to the next stage. That’ll only happen when I’m happy with it.

Life

Reading aside, I’m on the final stretch of the Elden Ring expansion: Shadow of the Erdtree. The final boss is woefully difficult. But I expect to put that to bed over the long weekend so I can get back to writing.

I did also manage to inhale the first of the Percy Jackson books, The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan which. Given my love of Greek mythology, that went down a treat. Full review on Goodreads here.

Art of the Season - Summer 2024

A depiction of the Goddess of Darkness, Noxielle, pondering over the soul of a mortal. This one was completed by Zed. I’ve been following his art for a while and it was a pleasure to work with him on this one. Especially love the galaxy effect on the dress and the crown-necklace! You can find more of his work here.
